inspiration: modern mythology

Unrelated Pacific NW film makers, Andrew Klaus and Casey Parks, have tapped into a similar cultural trend: modern mythology.

As a result of the quick cultural shift caused by technology that makes all information seem immediately knowable, artists are feeling artificially detached from the recent past. The intrigue of not knowing creates a mythology both personal and shared. Who were these people? Where did we come from? Why does not knowing make us feel so far away yet at the same time make us feel as though anything is possible?

Our histories are full of magic and they whisper to us, “Look behind the curtain. The answers are all here, we have been waiting for you for so long…”
