As the culture moves away from valuing personal identity in singular terms, the strength of self is found in the incongruent elements by which we choose to define ourselves. The freedom of expression allowed by this latticework of disparate identities nurtures adaptability. Strength is defined as much by the tangible existing structure as it is by the spaces left empty and waiting to be filled.

Material themes will be built around open surface details that seem indomitable, yet simultaneously on the verge of collapse. Material applications include broken surfaces, loose knits, open weaves, collaged fabrics, and exposed construction elements.
